What is the best advice for a manager who wants his employees to respect him, work hard, and have fun?

I will be managing a small office and I want my employees to feel that working in our office is rewarding, fun, and also that they respect me and each other. Does anyone have any adivice? What is the best advice for a manager who wants his employees to respect him, work hard, and have fun?
Start by showing you want to help them do their job efficiently. Ask each person what the top 3 things are which interfere with them doing their jobe to their utmost ability. Help them to overcome their problems/conflicts. This also serves a further purpose: when you help them get rid of the barriers they say are holding them back, you take away their excuses for when things aren't done on time/correctly.What is the best advice for a manager who wants his employees to respect him, work hard, and have fun?
The best way to get respect is to give it.
Let them know right from the start that you are there to do a job and show them the respect that you want from them, also let them know that your door is always open to them. Hold a weekly office table conference to discuss ways to improve the office functioning and allow them to speak their minds, employees also have good ideas. Last but not least put some of their ideas to work and they might just work.
